Cranberry Ice

If you are looking for the perfect holiday drink for your next office or house party?  Look no further than this easy to mix vodka-syrup concoction.  I used vodka because I prefer it over gin or run.  However, I don’t see why you can’t substitute either one for this drink.   The rosemary syrup adds a rustic touch to this drink.

I used Grey Goose.  I know there are many brands of Vodka and I may have tried a few of them already.   I just like the way Grey Goose goes down easy.  Top shelf vodka will work just fine, of course.  At the end of the day, it is alcohol and goes through the same process of fermentation.  Hah, the science teacher in me is coming out.

6 oz vodka, your choice
1 oz lemon juice
1 oz rosemary syrup
1 oz green chartreuse

Pour all ingredients into a shaker. Add ice.  Shake all ingredients and strain into a clear glass. Garnish with cranberries  and a rosemary sprig on top.

Rosemary syrup:

Pour equal parts of sugar and water in a saucepan.  1 cup sugar to 1 cup water should be enjoy.  Stir the simple syrup and place the saucepan over medium heat. By the time the edges start to simmer, the liquid should be completely clear, not cloudy. Immediately remove from the heat source.  At this time, add a sprig of rosemary and let the flavor seep in.  Let it cool down.

This cocktail is perfect if paired with a charcuterie board, cheese fondue, or hot artichoke dip.  Really, this drink pairs well with anything.  I hope you enjoy this as you share a laugh and make memories with your colleagues or family members alike.
